Two Saturdays ago, we loaded up the car and headed to Gulf Shores for our first family vacation with my side of the family.
This was C's first trip to the beach and she was beyond excited. We were worried about the drive but home girl was a TROOPER! She entertained herself for the most part and only asked a few times if we were there yet.
We all got there Saturday afternoon and we immediately hit the beach. It was love at first sight for C.
She spend most of her week talking everyone into building sand castles with her.
She even talked her Pap into digging a hole big enough for her to fit inside.
Hangin' with my beach cutie.
When she wasn't building sand castles, she was looking for seashells.
One night after dinner, we went for a stroll on the beach and C thought she would be cute and put Mo's (my brother) headlamp on to hunt shells.
She also spent some of her time talking people into taking her out in the ocean.
She finally got brave one day and went herself.
She did a little fishin' with Aunt Leslie. They (Aunt Leslie) managed to catch one and C thought it was the coolest thing.
She convinced Pap to try too.
When we weren't at the beach, we enjoyed a little pool time.
We used this opportunity to try teach her how to swim.
She actually did really well and got the hang of it by the end of the week. She even started going under water after watching her daddy do it.
Her favorite thing was to jump off the side of the pool and after watching a few other girls, she got brave and jumped without her floaties.
It was by far the most relaxing vacation we've had. C was content the whole time hanging out and wasn't begging to be entertained non-stop.
She loved being able to spend so much time with her Mo and Aunt Leslie who we don't see every often.
I might have thoroughly enjoyed spending so much time with them too. :)
First beach vacation in the books and we are already talking about our next one.
