Easter 2013

We've been home from vacation less than 24 hours, there are clothes scattered from one end of the house to another and I am currently covered in toys.  With all that said, pictures will have to tell the story of our Easter activities.

3

Her big day finally arrived.  She no longer considers herself a baby; she's a big girl who is gaining her independence all too quickly.

Cecilia turned 3 yesterday and we made sure she felt special on her day.

There was a 'Happy Birthday' sign around every corner and our table centerpiece was just for her.

She woke up to balloons all over floor.

She thought it was the greatest thing in the world.

Her teachers followed suit and showered her with lots of birthday wishes, cards and candy.  I sent birthday treats for her whole class to enjoy.

Throughout the day, my cell phone was buzzing with birthday wishes for her (thank you all for doing that!  So sweet that you thought of our little one!).

And sticking with tradition, a voicemail with my mom's remix of the Happy Birthday song.

It was thoroughly enjoyed.

Cecilia also received an animated e-card that she thought was the best thing ever!  Thanks Steve and Polly!

And nothing says Happy Birthday like getting a video from your cousin singing Happy Birthday to you.

Presents were opened when Brent got home and our living room was covered with new toys and tissue paper.

The night ended, like all good birthdays, with cake.

She was exhausted by the end of the night which can only mean she had a really good birthday.

Special Day

This year my parents decided that they wanted to take Cecilia on a special outing to celebrate her birthday.  We decided that Chuck E Cheese was a good option because C has been begging us to take her and my head hurt just thinking about going.

She got a bonus treat of getting to spend the night with them on Monday night because my mom was off work the next day.  It would be an understatement that C was excited.  She may or may not have told me that I wasn't allowed at Momoi and Pap's.  And she may or may not have told me she didn't love me; only her Momoi and Pap.  Just the kind of sentiment I was looking for a few days before we celebrated the day I gave birth to her.

All bitterness aside (kidding), clearly she had the time of her life.

Playing with new toys.

Playing in Momoi's makeup.  Clearly not liking the new look.

 Playing Mr. Magoo?

Tuesday, they made a visit to my dad's work.  My dad works with a guy that does magic on the side and he just so happened to sense C was in the building and just so happened to have balloons in his pocket.

Dog on a leash.  Big hit!

After the quick visit it was off to Chuck E Cheese.

The kid LOVES that place.  So much so she decided to bust a move to show her excitement.

She was sad to have to return home to us but promises of lot of birthday surprises eased the pain just a tad.

Tomorrow is her BIG day and we can't wait to celebrate with her!

Birthday Bash

Today was Cecilia's 3rd birthday party.

We had her party at a local bounce house and she was beyond excited!  We had a Tinkerbell theme and I allowed myself to keep it super simple.  Her party was mid-morning so we had donuts and donut holes.

I also put together little snack bags for energy boosts (i.e. more sugared goodies!).

But I really don't think that was necessary.  The kids were crazy!

We had a small group of kids come but they all seemed to be having the time of their life!

The below 2 are from C's school.

We were so excited that some of her classmates came and that they were two of her best friends.  We hear a LOT about them.

Silly girls.

Gwyneth is my cousin's daughter and goes to the same school as C.  Cecilia LOVES her some Gwynie (as she calls her) and didn't let her get too far away.

Ms. Sydney and Ms. Grayson

There was so much to do, the kids were bouncing from one end of the place to another.

All the kids played hard for 2 hours and I hope I made naptime a little easier!

And because apparently I didn't think the bounce house was going to be enough fun, C, my mom and I went to get pedicures right after the party.

This was a first for C and pretty sure it was the start of many!

I mean how fun is this chair?

It was even equipped with a DVD player so she was able to watch a movie while getting pampered.  Hello dream!

Our fabulous new toes...

And because I'm the best mom EVER (or the dumbest), ice cream to finish our day!

Her sugar high lasted way longer than I thought but she is finally out and I'm not too far behind.
