Down but Not Out

Over the last 3 weeks I've suffered from my very first sinus infection.  It's been amazing.  My body is still trying to recover from me blowing my nose every 2.5 seconds.  I was convinced I was going to blow this baby out if I didn't get over it soon.  C kept asking me why I had to blow my nose so much and that it was annoying her.  I told her to get over it because I was more annoyed than her.

Week 2 was my worst week.  It was so bad, I had to retreat to my parent's house while Brent worked so they could entertain C and I slowly died on their couch.

And even though I felt like crap, I couldn't slow down.  I had several projects for Poppy Lane to get done for the holiday season.  I just HAD to make a baby book and it HAD to be done in like 2 days.  And I HAD to get things done in the nursery.  In hindsight I probably should have rested more but how was I supposed to rest with all those important projects that HAD TO BE DONE THIS VERY MOMENT?  I swear I'm my own worst enemy.

In other non-snot related news, Nov 14 was a HUGE day in our house.  C had successfully slept in her own bed all night for 10 nights straight.  Brent and I had finally had enough sleepless nights and the bed was getting too small for all 3 of us plus my large belly.  C had to go.  I told her that if she slept in her 10 nights, I would get her a surprise.  I was thinking something small but her daddy, being the giving man he is, told her she could have the poop-a-charm baby she has been begging for.
One happy little girl!

She almost had to start over on night 9 but I reminded her of the poop-a-charm baby and she turned right around and went back to her bed.  She has been there ever since and everyone in the Miller house is happy.

This past weekend, we had a surprise visit from C's cousins.  They came in town for my baby sprinkle and C was thrilled!

She got to go swimming at their hotel and then had a sleepover.  She had a hard time accepting they had to go back home.  Brent and I just aren't as much fun as her cousins.

And speaking of baby sprinkle, my friends Jaclyn and Jennifer hosted the cutest little baby sprinkle for our little guy.  It was baseball themed which was fitting for us since my husband's life has always revolved around baseball.  I loved every little detail.

It was such a great day celebrating with close friends and family.  We were showered with lots of necessities and special little gifts and C even got several little 'congrats on being a big sister' gifts.  I thought it was so sweet of people to remember her.

We are in our final weeks of being a family of 3 and we couldn't be more excited to become a family of 4!  I think I'm more ready than anyone.  #sooverthispregnancy

We Partied Hard

We had one party after another this weekend!

Friday night, we headed to Indy to stay at brother-in-law and sister-in-law's house.  Our niece was having her 4th birthday party on Saturday and we went to celebrate her big day.  C was beyond excited that she was going to have a sleepover with her cousin's as well getting to spend all weekend with them.  They all play so well with one another and have so much fun being together.

Saturday morning was filled with little girls and boys running around playing and celebrating our niece Frozen style.  They even had craft time which was a HUGE hit!  They painted Olaf's out of shaving cream and glue.  I totally failed at getting a picture of C's when she was done but they were cute.

And naturally her favorite part of the whole weekend was getting to hold baby Etta.

After the birthday party, the rest of the Miller clan came to Indy and they had a little surprise family sprinkle for us.  It was so sweet and we got lots of little goodies for the baby.

Sunday, I hosted a bridal shower for my soon to be sister-in-law, Kristin.  She and my brother-in-law are getting married at the beach in Mexico so I did a little beach themed shower.

Me and the bride to be.

And what I refer to as a Kaci(e) sandwich.

In case you have forgotten, my SIL on the right is also named Kaci.  If we want to get even crazier, all our husband's (and soon to be husband's) name start with a B, making all our couple monograms, BMK.

And this is what happens after too much cousin fun.

Crazy to think the next trip north we will have an extra passenger.

Halloween Fun Continued

Our week was full of Halloween fun!

Wednesday night, the church where C's goes to school, hosted a trunk or treat.  We hadn't planned on going but as soon as I got home, C informed me that we were indeed going.  Apparently, her teacher had told them about the event and C took that as we HAD to go.

We got C dressed and out the door we went.

I'm not a huge trunk or treat fan mainly because I like the tradition of going door to door but C had a good time and got lots of goodies.

Side Note:  I had several people ask what C was supposed to be.  After convincing her not be to Elsa (bad mother award!), she said she wanted to be a My Little Pony.  She went back and forth on which one she wanted to be but finally settled on Rarity.  I pulled up some ideas on Pinterest and let her pick which costume she liked best.  Naturally, we couldn't look like a normal pony, we had to look like the girl version.  I made a few little changes like the headband with ears and horn and I also added a tail.

I was completely fine with no one knowing what she was.  She was happy with her outfit and that's all this mama cares about!

At dance on Thursday, C's teacher told the girls they could wear their costumes.  Their teacher loves Halloween so we just thought she wanted to see the girls in their costumes.  What we didn't know is that they would put on a little show for us.

It was so cute and the girls had a blast!

Finally on Halloween, C had a big party at school and instead of wearing their costumes, they wore black and orange.

Friday night, we went to my parent's and went trick or treating in their neighborhood.

Since it was sooo cold, we only went to a few houses.  C really didn't care because she was dying to get back to pass out candy.  Every time the doorbell rang, she jumped up and ran to the door.  It was the highlight of her whole night.
