'Stick a fork in her; she's done!'

Well kids we are in our finally month! Whew! At this point I'm not sure how much longer I can go. At 36 weeks I am uncomfortable 75% of the day, can't sleep well, and as of a few days ago started having minor contractions. We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and she said all this was normal. She actually seemed pretty excited that I was having all those symptoms.

We started this week getting checked (fun times!!!) and it was turning out to be yet another uneventful visit but in about the same breath she told me I was 1 cm dilated, she turned to the nurse and told her to go try catch the ultrasound tech. She looked at me told me to get dressed and meet her outside. Before she left the room she did tell me that there was nothing to worry about; that she is almost positive Belle is head first but she wanted the tech to double check since I am feeling really strong moments and having lots of pressure. It took the tech all of about 2 seconds to confirm Belle is in the correction position. I wasn't worried or bothered by the fact that she could be hind end first. It would just mean I would have to have a c-section. And like I said before, after watching that birthing video a c-section seems easier!

I know those of you who haven't seen me much during this pregnancy are just dying to see what I look like 9 months pregnant. So here ya go...
I decided to put up my 3, 6, and 9 month pictures side by side so you could see just how much I have doubled! Both mine and Brent's mouth hit the floor when we saw what I looked like just a few months ago. Have mercy!!! I looked so perky in the first two pictures and now I just look haggard. Bless my heart! Man if I think I look tired now wonder what I will look like 6 weeks from now! Ha! You might be able to see my bags from miles away!

I am finally done with all my projects for Belle's room. I finished a painting for her room a couple of weeks ago but my mom was just now able to get the saying on it. I am so pleased with how it turned out. I can't wait to hang it up. Once that happens her room will pretty much be in order minus a few things that we will hang later like pictures and a few other things I may have up my sleeve. I'll try and post a picture of her room later next week.

The painting. It says, 'We loved you before we knew you; even when there was just the hope of you, we loved you!'
Well that is about it for me for tonight. It is creeping towards my bedtime and I still have a few things to accomplish.

Whoa! What a Weekend!

We kicked off our weekend with our first baby shower on Friday night. Four of my most precious friends (Abby, Jaclyn, Jennifer, and Natalie) threw us a shower at Jaclyn's house. In true Jaclyn style, the house was decked out with huge pink bows, pink tulips and pink and white boas. I was so overwhelmed I didn't get any pictures of the decorations other than the tables. Everything was so pretty!
Here is the dessert island. We had cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels, pink chocolate dipped chocolate chip cookies, Kisses, M&M's, rock candy, and jelly beans. ALL candy and desserts were pink and very delicious! The center piece was a collection of a few of my baby things. Or so that is what I was told. I only recognized one thing and that is the baby doll. It was my first given to me on the day I was born by my Uncle Scott. I loved that doll and probably slept with it WAY longer than I should have. I'm pretty sure I remember having a talk with myself about how silly it was to be going to middle school and still sleeping with a baby doll. I know you are wondering when I will have that talk with myself about the baby blanket I STILL sleep with. Not gonna happen! It is a total comfort thing.
There is the food table decked out with pink and green with vases full of tulips. Jac even pulled out the China for the event.

And look at these cute favors we had! Jac had made coasters for us all to use and take home with us! What a clever idea! May have to steal this little idea!

The shower was wonderful and Brent and I brought home a car load of stuff, that yes Jac, got put away as soon as we got home! I couldn't go to bed without everything having a new home. Brent even set up the baby monitors for us. He wanted to test them out to make sure that they worked. He closed Belle's room door and walked around the house yelling at me to talk as I sat in the middle of her floor to make sure he could hear me. He could loud and clear! When we went to bed that night, I noticed he so conveniently put the monitor on my side of the bed. He told me he would move it to his side once I went back to work. And I'm holding him to that promise!!
Here I am with my four hostess. (L to R) Abby, Jennifer, me, Jaclyn, and Natalie

And here Jac and I are belly to belly. One day I will learn not to wear outfits that make me look like a linebacker!

One of the gifts we got was a gift from my mom and Nanny. If you know anything about me you know I LOVE quilts so imagine my surprise/excitement when I opened the box and out came a quilt that my mom had designed and my Nanny had sewed together. I was so shocked! It matches Belle's room perfectly and the back of the quilt is the same material I used for her valance. They made it extra big so we would be able to use it longer. I have a feeling this could be Belle's "comfort" blanket someday! (sorry about it being turned the wrong way. I was so excited about posting pics I forget to edit beforehand)

After all the excitement on Friday, we still had more to come because Saturday was my birthday! Brent and I started the day out with a quick breakfast at Chik-Fil-A. I just love those mini chicken biscuits. I could make myself sick off those things and have! Brent then headed off to work and I headed off to go shopping. I had fun filled morning shopping and looking around. Sometimes it is nice to go shopping by yourself.
When I got home I was pretty pooped so Colt and I snugged on the couch for a little while until my parents came up to take Brent and I out for my birthday. We ate a little local restaurant that only my mom had eaten at and it turned out to be really good! We love trying out new restaurants and it has almost become a thing to go somewhere new on my birthday.
After dinner we came back to our house to dive into these little beauties...
There is this new cupcake place here in BG and after looking at their menu online I HAD to go and try them out! They have a million flavors and they aren't your normal cupcakes. I got a Hot White Chocolate cupcake and it was fantastic!! They give you a 2 inch tall cupcake with about 4 inches of icing! They are a little pricey but well worth it! Thank goodness the store is on the other side of town because if I had to pass by there much I would be big as a house!
Finally Sunday after all the eating and excitement, Colt and I landed on the couch after church while Brent headed off to work. We spent most of our day on the couch and it was wonderful! It was much needed rest for the both of us!

Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day

5:30 woke up to find that it had snowed, AGAIN! Great! Guess I'll have to take the long way to work. No, scratch that. Going to take normal way and pray the roads aren't bad. Roads weren't bad and as a added bonus 2 people decided to ride my tail. HELLO! Snow is covering the roads and I'm pregnant! Went even slower just to tick them off.

Stepped out of car at work (wearing TENNIS SHOES) and almost do the splits. Fabulous! That would have be lovely especially since I was carrying a glass of water. Stupid snow/ice! Have I ever mentioned I HATE snow and cold weather?

Go to post office for work only to find they are an hour behind with the mail. Awesome! That won't cause drama at work at all. (The mail is VERY important to some people at my work. I'm pretty sure it is the only thing keeping some of those people alive!)

Have to listen to grown women act like they are 10 all day because the mail was late and argue over who should go get it. Fantastic!

Thanks to flex hours, I was able to cut out a little early hoping to find some kind of happy ending to this day. So how does a pregnant gal cheer herself up? First, has a jam session (car dancing included) while listening to Twist and Shout and Black Velvet. Then comes home to stuff a few chocolate chip cookies in her mouth! (hey just trying to gain that pound back :)!)

Hoping tomorrow is a better day! If not, you could see me on the 6 o'clock news. I'll be the one with my hands around someones throat.

A Little This and That

The conclusion: No amount of OJ or Germ-X keep the funk away! I woke last Friday to a stopped up nose and I could feel the germs seeping their way in. I was not happy and I made it pretty clear about my feelings when I went to work. On Saturday I woke up with a full blown cold and spent the weekend on the couch. I'm still not 100% and I'm hoping I will get over it by this weekend. I HATE not being able to breathe!

Enough complaining...I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Like all the other visits, everything is great. Actually I managed to lose a pound. She asked me how I did that and I told her I didn't have a clue because I was still stuffing hamburgers and pizza down my throat. I really thought I would have gained at least 2 or 3 because I haven't been so good these past 2 weeks. Ice cream finally got the best of me! I bet I won't be so lucky next time though! Oh and I got a 5 minute lecture about how I shouldn't be wearing heels in this kind of weather. I was told that all pregnant women lose their sense of coordination regardless of how coordinated they were before pregnancy (ha! didn't have any to lose!). I politely sat there and took the lecture. I assured her I wasn't totally dumb. That I at least wore tennis shoes that morning when it was slick. I just didn't change back into them after work. She seemed mildly pleased. Guess I'm wearing flats to the next appointment!

My Name is Kacie and I'm a Germ-A-Phob!

Background: I was never really bothered by germs growing up. I washed my hands when it called for it and covered my mouth I coughed. I laughed at those who ran away from anyone who MIGHT have the slightest runny nose. That all changed when I got a job as a bank teller. Three days into my training I caught some kind of funk that kept me in bed for two days! I have never been so sick in my life. At one point I thought I was dying. Ever since then the Germ-X hasn't left my side. I have a bottle at my desk and use it often.

The story: For the last week we have had at least one or more out each day sick. Their out for a day or half a day only to come back the following day hacking up their left lung. Today it seemed everyone worked in unison and out of the 20 people in my office only 2 of us weren't catching a runny noses or coughing up lungs! I have never in my life been so grossed out! All day I felt like germs were crawling all over me and every time someone sneezed, coughed, or breathed I rubbed myself down with Germ-X. GO HOME PEOPLE!!! I know I have probably come to work a few times when I should have stayed home, but I stayed in my cube and didn't go around anyone. These people are just walking right up and breathing their germs in my germ free air! One person even had the nerve to tell us if we would turn the heat down then we wouldn't be harvesting the germs. HELLO!! If you would keep your sick hind end at home there wouldn't be any germs to spread!

I am tempted to wear a mask tomorrow so someone will get the clue that sharing germs is NOT cool! I made it through the flu/H1N1 scare untouched and if some goof gives me their funk now I'm not going to be a happy camper! A shower is a MUST this evening!
