Today is Thursday, Right?

It's been another week where I have no clue as to what day it is and my eyelids feel like they weigh 100 pounds each.

Monday, my mom had some work done on her knee so on Tuesday, C and I volunteered to "babysit."  We had a good time hanging out and taking care of Momoi.  Nanny even came over for a little playtime.

Honestly, it is a contest to see who can giggle the most, Nanny or Cecilia.

Yesterday, I got one of our famous calls from Cecilia's school.  You know the one where they call telling me she has a crazy disease and she can't come back until cleared from the doctor?  She came home from school on Thursday with a few red dots on her chest that I thought was heat rash.  Over the weekend it got a little worse but only when she got hot.  She never complained about it or had a fever but I called the peds office to double check and they confirmed it was probably only heat rash.  By Monday it was looking good and on Tuesday it was almost gone.  Brent told her teachers about the her chest and told them not to have her outside much.  2 hours later I get a call that it has spread all over her back and foot and the teacher was making the call from OUTSIDE!!!  We played baby shuffle and I took her to a doctor here in town who laughed when I brought her in.  She too confirmed that there was nothing major about her little bumps and cleared us for school.  Oh and it hadn't spread all over her back and foot.  There were 2 spots close to her underarm and the one on her foot was a mositque bite that were when we dropped her off.  To say I'm annoyed is an understatment but at least C got to spend another day with her Momoi and Nanny.

A day and a half left of this week it couldn't end soon enough.

Weekend Review

I don't think I have been more thankful for a mall re-opening like I am about Opry Mills.  There is nothing like having all your favorite stores in one spot.  Mom, Cecilia and I all racked up and I even came home with money!  It was a beautiful day!

Cecilia got a few extra perks out of the deal.  There was a carousel in the middle of the mall that we had to ride.  She isn't big on getting off them but luckily they give out horse stamps which saved us from a huge meltdown.

She was so proud of her stamp.

Then because my mom can't say no, she got to ride a mini carousel before leaving.

After shopping, my parent's promised C a ride in the jeep.  We made a trip out of it and took dinner to the creek.

Excuse major windblown look.

Cecilia had a big time at the creek throwing rocks in the water and listening to the bullfrogs.

She saw a few fish so the rest of the night she was making fish hands...

A jeep ride and picnic was a great way to end the day.

TGIF

Big girl bed update:  It seems to be a success.  She hasn't fallen out of the bed and still seems to love her "new" bed.  There is less drama about going to bed and she loves being able to get out of bed herself.  SCORE!

This week has been a complete blur.  Wednesday my boss and I went to Indiana to look at a new facility of one of our suppliers.  It ended up being a 14 hour day and the majority of it was spent in a car.  :(  I spent the days before and after trying to get things caught back up.  I'm so thankfully it is Friday and I get to spend more time with this nugget...

enjoying playing dress up.

Mom and I have a big shopping day planned for tomorrow.  We are considering it her last hurrah before she has her knee worked on next week.  I'm super pumped but afraid she won't be able to keep up.  I may have to leave her and Cecilia in the play area so I can do some damage to my wallet.

3 o'clock can not come fast enough today.

On A Whim

While Cecilia and I were playing in her room tonight, I got the notion to turn her crib into a toddler bed.

I plan on giving her a "big girl" room this fall but I wanted to see how she would do without that extra side.  She loved the idea and was super excited to sleep in her bed.

Brent came home, took one look at it and said, 'I bet she falls out of it at least once before I go to bed.'  Joy kill.  But just in case he is right, Mama set up a nice cushy landing.

We spent this past weekend at Brent's parents visiting and meeting the newest addition to the Miller family.

Shaffer was born Thursday afternoon and we couldn't wait to see him on Friday!

We talked all week with Cecilia about traveling and seeing all her family.  She was super excited about seeing Aubrey and Nora.

We stopped by the hospital when we got to town and Cecilia was so sweet with Shaffer.

She was very curious about him, wanting to see and touch him.  She didn't even seem to care that I was holding him.  Huge improvement from the past!

We had a laid back weekend doing a lot of nothing.  We went to Aubrey's t-ball game on Saturday morning.

 This was Brent's first t-ball game and he about lost his mind!  Being the baseball player he was, watching a bunch of 5 year olds run around after a ball not making "plays" was too much for him.

 He claimed Cecilia would NOT be playing t-ball.  We will see about that.

After the game we ate lunch and then C and I had a nice long nap.  The night before was a little rough on us.  She somehow fell out of the bed so I woke up every time she moved after that.  That was unless she woke me up by kicking my ribs, busting my lip with her head or smacking me in the face.  I feel for her future husband.

We grilled out that night and enjoyed the night out on the patio watching the Reds game and playing with the water guns Brent got for C.

Sunday, before we left, we spent some more time with Shaffer and let the girls play.  We also attempted pictures.

At some point we will realize we just won't get any good ones while they're this small.

How It Played Out

Our weekend went pretty much as planned.  Friday we did grocery and low key family night.  Saturday, C and I got up and headed to Franklin so I could get a haircut.  I ended up with bangs and told my hairstylist that we were going back to the rule my mom made when I was 6.  She is not allowed to ever cut my hair short.  I'm not a short hair gal and it is on my nerves!
Saturday after our jeep joyride, I made dinner for the Konow's and went to love on some babies.  They are so ridiculous sweet/cute/precious!  I haven't seen them since their birth day and I was glad to get to love on Sadie this time.  I could seriously just stare at them all day.  Everyone keeps asking if seeing them gives me baby fever.  The answer...NO.  I love babies/kids and if I got the fever every time I was around them, we would have a houseful.  We know the right timing for us and we are currently loving our time with our one and only.

Sunday was spent going to church, sending Brent off to work, stripping paint off a coffee table I'm redoing, napping/laying around watching movies with C and talking with my brother and SIL on Skype.  I use the word "talking" loosely since C could only manage to smile and be unbelievable shy.  Of course as soon as we ended the call, she couldn't stop talking about Mo, Leslie and Kitty.

Oh and some where in between stripping paint and napping, I discovered the clothes in the dryer were still wet after running 2 drying cycles.  Nice.  I called the repairman, aka Dad, and laid the situation out.  He came to the rescue and Brent was able to get the part we needed yesterday and my dryer is now working properly so I can continue the joy that is laundry.

And that was our exciting weekend.

Pap's Jee-ep!

My Dad has been wanting a Jeep to ride around in for a while now.  He has been looking for just the right one and he finally found one after years of searching.

C and I got the chance to going riding in Pap's Jee-ep on Saturday.

Cecilia was pumped!  She raised her hands and shouted, 'Let's go!' We weren't sure how she would do with all the wind in her face so we took a small spin around the neighborhood.

It didn't take us long to realize that she loved riding in the jeep!  We decided to venture outside the neighborhood but first we had to make a quick stop by the dollar store to get some sunscreen and hair ties.

We were so unprepared for our little trip but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves.

C is hoping for many more rides and I am too considering this happened as soon as we pulled in the driveway...

Random Friday

During the summer Cecilia's school tries to have fun activities for them to do each week.  One activity that they will have is water day.  Instead of having to remember her bathing suit, towel and water shoes on a certain day, I decided just to buy a extra of those to keep at school.

I actually hit up the Dollar Store to see if they had anything.  I found just what I needed..

The even better deal, they were half off!  Even if they just last the summer it is totally worth it.  Cecilia was beside herself with the Minnie gear.  So much so that we had to change our shoes in the middle of the aisle and wear them out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brent plays softball during the spring every Thursday night.  Because of the way the schedule is, we haven't been able to get out and watch any of his games.  Until last night.  It finally worked out after 2 years that C and I could go and cheer the team on.
C kept saying 'Daddy play ball.'  She had a big time watching Daddy and cheering for him.
She got a little sassy a few times during the games and when I got on to her the first thing she said was 'I go timeout?'  Ha!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm ready for the weekend even though I don't have much planned other than a much needed hair cut.  I hate that I let me hair get so out of control that when asked what I want to do, the first words out are 'shave it.'  I'm afraid one day I could get that desperate.

All She Needs is a Bag of Trash

Cecilia got a Minnie Mouse buggy for her birthday courtesy of my brother and sister-in-law.  She didn't have much to do with it a little at first but now it has become what I call her homeless buggy.

She has stuffed all her favorite items in the buggy including 5 wormies and pushes it around the house.

It is one of the first things she gets out when she gets home in the afternoons.

She cracks us up pushing this thing all over the place and she reminds me of a homeless person with all their belongs in a buggy.

She just needs a bag of trash hanging from the handle and she will be set.

Water Baby

Cecilia is loving all the fun water activities summer has to offer.  Her water table gets used on a daily bases and the pool gets filled just about every weekend.

This past weekend since we knew we were going to the zoo, we decided not to get the pool out.  Instead, we pulled out the sprinkler for the first time.  Cecilia LOVED it!

She screamed and giggled with every pass.

She loved running around the yard getting wet.

So far summer is looking good for us.  I'm hoping weather stays as nice as it has so we can enjoy more summer days outside.

Zoo Fun!

Saturday morning we headed off to the Nashville Zoo.  The weather couldn't have been more perfect and Cecilia was pretty excited about seeing all the animals.

Among her favorite were the monkeys.  She loved watching them jump from tree to tree.

Elephants have always been my favorite and I love seeing them so close.

The zoo also offered a few little extras.

They had a jungle gym area where kids of all ages could play.  We found a little area where Cecilia could run and jump.

She was pretty intimated by all the other kids running around like crazy but it didn't take long for her to join in.

We had such a good day and we looked back to see this before we ever got back on the interstate.
