Let's Go To the Movies!

Saturday night, we borrowed my dad's jeep and took C to the drive-in to see Inside Out.

C loves going to the drive-in and going in the jeep made it that much more fun for her.

It was a little chilly Saturday night but I had packed blankets so it wasn't too bad except for the ride home.

C and I were buried under the blankets to block the very chilly wind.  You can tell she was thrilled.  :)

Our little adventure helped us cross off two activities on our Summer of Fun list.  Of course, I'm feeling another jeep ride because it's not a true jeep ride unless you end up at Sonic after 8pm for a half-priced milkshake.  :)

Happenings

Last Wednesday, I had an overnight work meeting in Cincinnati.  It was my first night away from Uryah and I'm proud to say I only had one small meltdown before I left.  It does not get easier the second time around.

After our meeting, I knew we were going to go to a Reds game so I dressed the kids in their Reds gear to be with me in spirit.  :)

Baseball games are always way more enjoyable in person.  I had a good time and it was a fun middle of the week outing.

I came home in enough time Thursday to finish up a few last minute things for a baby shower I was helping host on Saturday.

The mama to be isn't finding out the sex of the baby so we did a You Are My Sunshine theme.

I thought it turned out so cute and we had so much fun showering Baby Sanford.  Now I'm just sitting on pins and needles waiting for his/her arrive so I can run out and buy all things boy or all things girl.

While we were at the shower, B went to Cincinnati to go to a Reds game with his dad to celebrate Father's Day with him.

This is the kids I miss you face.

I let them fall asleep in my bed since B would be gone and I managed to capture this sweet moment between them.

They are both dead asleep but clearly even in the deepest sleep, they need to be touching.

Sunday for Father's Day, we didn't do much but go to church and relax.

Well that's a lie.  We did go to my parent's house Sunday night for dinner to celebrate B and my dad so we just changed our relaxing locations.

Weekend

Saturday, one of C's school friends threw a graduation party for their class.  It was a pool party and they all had a blast!

They swam and giggled all night long.

C and her sweet friend Avery.

We have been so blessed with a good group of kids and parents and it's going to be hard to say goodbye.

I mean look at them...

so much love and happiness.

Sunday, was a very lazy day for us.  *insert choir singing hallelujah.*

U took a long nap after church which gave me plenty of time to work on some projects for an upcoming baby shower.  Other than that, there was a whole lot of nothing going on at our house.

And I have to document us all matching for church.

Shocked face that everyone cooperated!

And we FINALLY got to spread the news that my brother and sister in law are expecting!!

I am completely beside myself!  C is crossing her fingers for a girl.

I posted this picture on IG and everyone that we were having a baby.  First off, umm no.  As bad as I want another baby, now is not the right time for us.  I've just now stopped having nightmares about my delivery.  Second, I get the confusion even though I posted baby MAYEUR.  It's hard to remember that's not my last name anymore.  We are over the moon excited and can't wait to meet our new niece/nephew.

One Thing After Another

These last 5 days have been jammed packed with fun!

Wednesday, our fun little friend, Tuck the Turtle, came to stay with us for the next 7 days.

U has been congested ever since Spring sprung and we have been checking in with the doctor every couple of weeks to make sure we didn't need to do more than we were doing.  Tuesday, he started coughing so I took him to the doctor to make sure he hadn't developed an ear infection.  His ears where fine but she didn't like the sound of his cough so he got put on breathing treatments.  It's always super fun giving a baby breathing treatments 3 times a day.  Yay us.

We did end the day on a good note.  C started her summer gymnastic class that night.  She has several of her friends in that class and she could not have been more excited to be back at gym!

Friday, we had some time to kill before we had to meet B after work so I took C to one of her favorite places...the library.  This was U's first time and I think he enjoyed himself.

And of course sister had to show him the hot air balloon.

Saturday, we had a birthday party for one of C's friends (girl in the middle) at Chaney's Dairy Barn.

It was so stinkin' hot but those kids ran and played their little hearts out.

We came home in just enough time to wash off and change before heading to a wedding.

One of the "dance moms" got married on Saturday and her little girl wanted to invite all her dance friends.  C was beside herself about the whole thing.  We sat on the back row since we had U with us and this allowed the girls to stand in their chairs so they could see.

At the reception, you couldn't keep the girls off the dance floor.

I'm also proud to say I didn't embarrass C when I got out there to shake it.  :)

Saturday was not the coolest day in the world and I was afraid U wouldn't last but he always proves me wrong.

He was wide-eyed the whole time and didn't make one peep except when he got all excited and started moving to the music.

Sunday after church, we busted the pool out and played in it all day.

We let U play in it once the water started feeling like bath water.  He loved it!  He didn't know what to think of it but had the best time splashing around.

Last night, the three of us made a list of all the fun things we want to do this summer and we are all pretty pumped about our summer activities.

A Last

We had, what we're assuming is our last, dance recital over the weekend.  C proclaimed around Christmas that she HATES dance.  It has been awful dragging her almost in tears to dance each week.  My mama nerves couldn't handle the drama so I told her she could stop dance after her dance recital.

The funny thing is, she lives for dancing on the big stage.

We've been with most of these girls for two years so its going to be sad not seeing them each week.

Thankfully some of them are taking gymnastics with us over the summer so we get to see their pretty little smiles weekly.

I have to say, I'm not sad about her quitting dance.  After a 3 hour recital on Saturday, I'm happy to say peace out to dance.  It's clear her heart is more into gym right now and I'm good with that.  Except, I have this huge fear she will fall and break her arm but that could happen anytime.

Only time will tell if we get back into dance but for right now, C eat, sleeps and breaths gym.

5 Months

Better late than never.

Uryah is 5 months old and looking more like a toddler than a baby!

I mean nothing in that picture looks like a baby to me.  Of course, the fact that he is the size of a toddler doesn't help either.

Uryah is 20 pounds and is 26.25" long.

He wears 9 month clothes and a size 3 diaper.

He has finally taken a liking to baby food but is already starting to be picky.  He doesn't like peas or carrots but loves everything else so far.

Every time he eats, he acts like he hasn't eaten in 4 days.  He grabs my hand and shoves the spoon in his mouth at EVERY bite, then cries until I put more on the spoon (just like his daddy!)  ;)) Its pretty comical.

Over the weekend, he started sitting up on his own for a few seconds.

Big Sister LOVES it because this means real playtime.  Of course, it will make it harder for her to smoother him with kisses when he doesn't want to lay down anymore.

I cannot say it enough on how good this kid is.  He just goes with whatever is going on and hardly fusses about it.

Bless his heart, he was such a trooper over the weekend at C's dance recital that lasted THREE hours!  C wasn't a horrible baby but she never would have lasted like that.

Good thing he is laid back and can roll with the punches.  His sister adds enough drama to our life.
