Recovering

Friday after work, we loaded up the car and headed north to Cincinnati where we met Brent's family for a fun filled weekend.

Saturday morning, we started the day off with a trip to the zoo.  I know we've only been to 3 zoos with C but this one was by far the best!  The exhibits were great, the staff was awesome and very friendly and there were several times you looked up to see an animal on a leash just walking around.

The giraffes were a favorite.

C spent some time in the goat pen feeding them, petting them and brushing them.

She also loved the train ride around the zoo.

Brent's favorite was seeing Todd Fraiser (Red's player) at the zoo!

Call me paparazzi.  It pays to have a good camera.  Didn't even notice me.  :)

After the zoo, we came back for a quick nap before heading to the Red's game.

The girls still looking cute in their shirts!

Proud Daddy taking his daughter to her first Red's game.

My brother-in-law's girlfriend managed to get us a suite at the game.  It was amazing and the ONLY way to watch a ballgame!  ;)

Sunday, we were up early again because we were Kings Island bound!  But we couldn't get the day started without C having a MAJOR wipeout in the parking lot!

Perfect way to start the day.  Everyone loves a screaming kid in the morning.

Thankfully, there were too many distractions at Kings Island for her to dwell on her knee too long.

We pretty much stayed in kiddie land the whole day since those were the only rides the little girls could ride.  They didn't seem to mind though!

The girls giggled and carried on and bounced from one ride to the next all day!

Relaxing in between each ride.  Her life is sooo rough!

By 6pm, all the rides had been rode and all the junk food had been eaten and we had to say our goodbyes.  We ended our day with another dramatic screaming/crying fit as we left the park.  Luckily she was so worn out, that she passed out 2 minutes into the car ride home.

It was a good weekend but it will take us all week to recover.

The Weekend

Friday night, C made a spur of the moment trip to my parent's.

She has been asking for a week to go stay with them and we made that happen on Friday.  This is her 'I'm SUPER excited but don't want to show it' face.

My parent's got the full C show because when I called around 1pm on Saturday, they were both ready for a nap.  Too bad C wasn't!  :)  I laughed and told them welcome to our world!

And you would think that with all that free time, Brent and I would have done something exciting and spent loads of time together.  That would be a negative.  Friday night, we watched a few DVRs but I spent most of my evening in my craft room working on a few things while he enjoyed uninterrupted TV.

Saturday morning, we got up did a few chores, then set off for a run.  I think I need to tell you that I am NOT a runner. This is me...
Fo' real
I tried to run back before I had C when my brother, Dad and Brent convinced me 'anyone can run.  it's not hard.'  Well after 2 seconds of running, I almost died.  Literally, I almost had to call Brent to come get me.  My lungs burned, my mouth went completely dry and I had to crawl back to the house.

Anyway, I feel like I see nothing but runners and everyone is doing The Couch to 5K, so I talked myself and Brent into doing it.  It has basically gone about the same as before only I can't quit because Brent and C go with me and I didn't want to look like a wimp.  Of course Brent being the athlete was all 'hey this isn't that bad' as he pushes the 50 pound stroller and I'm all 'AIR', 'MEDIC.'  But I'm doing it whether it kills me or not.

After recovering from our run, I did what I love to do best when I don't have a child or a husband...I went to Hobby Lobby and Michael's!

While at Hobby Lobby I got the idea to make C a new dance bag and ended up whipping this up Saturday afternoon...

Love, love, love it!  She was pretty pumped about it too!

That night we met my parent's at Olive Garden to eat and get C back.  C was super thrilled to come back home.

NOT!  Hot messy anyone?

I had to threaten no more dance a few times before she FINALLY stopped crying.  Mercy!

After a lazy day yesterday, we are ready to start our week.

Dance, Dance Fever

C had her first dance class tonight.

She absolutely love it and begged/cried to stay.

Mama's aren't allowed in the room with them but we were able to watch from a tv in the lobby.  My eyes stayed glued to the tv to make sure she was doing as she was told.  She was about the only one who didn't get distracted and did just as the teacher instructed.  There wasn't even a struggle to get her off my hip.  As soon as class was ready to start, she walked in with little hesitation.  Ah.  So proud of her.

She's already asked 3 times when dance class is again.  Ha, it could be a long week but I'm so glad she is enjoying it.

L-A-Z-Y

Our weekend played out just like I had hoped, we did absolutely nothing.  The rain kept us inside most of the day on Saturday so I did a few minor projects.  On the top of my list was getting C's reading chair finished.

My mom got her the chair awhile ago and I slapped paint on it two months ago and then it sat and sat and sat.  Finally, this weekend I got it done!  I know it's nothing major but it is a To Do marked off my list.

Sunday, for all of 5 minutes C played in her pool.  Good thing Daddy spent 30 minutes getting it all set up.

I think the only reason she said she wanted to "swim" was so she could eat a popsicle in the pool.  As soon as she was done with it, she was done with the pool.

And I guess C was feeling a little bloated from all the popsicles because she laid down last night to do some crunches.

Seriously, not my child.

Even though I wished for a calm, relaxing weekend, I felt bad for not doing anything.  Dumb I know but it might have been too lazy for me.  Looks like I will just have to make up for it next weekend.  :)

Whew! It's Friday.

It's 9:30pm and this nugget has FINALLY chilled out for the night.

She has run wide open ALL night making our evening together feel twice as long.  Have mercy!  But we've pretty much run wide open all week so she doesn't know any better.

Monday Brent and I went out for anniversary while my dad stayed with C.  I can't you how much I love having a real conversation without hearing, 'Mama, color with me.'  'Mama, look at me.'  'Mama, can I have that.'

Tuesday night my mom and C hung out while I went to a meeting and ran some errands.

And last night we signed C up for dance class.  She is beyond excited and has asked every hour when she is going to dance.  One of her friends from school is also taking which made it all the better.  Pretty sure I had the only kid screaming that she didn't want to leave.

The weatherman says it supposed to rain all weekend which means we will have a slower weekend.  Or so I hope.

7 years

7 years ago we said 'I do.'

Freshly engagement

We promised in good times and bad.

4 months before wedding

We promised to grow together and to be willing to face changes.

Honeymoon

7 years isn't long but long enough to know marriage isn't easy or perfect.  Long enough to know that there is no one else I want by my side.

We have many more years ahead of us and I'm excited to see what the future has in store of us.

Love you Brentie!

Social Calendar

Cecilia was little Miss Social Butterfly this weekend.

Saturday morning she had a birthday party for her classmate, Carson.  It was a fireman theme complete with a fire station and fire trucks.

How cute are these little fire trucks Carson's mom made?!

All the kids had a big time playing with each other and all the fun stuff Carson's mama had set up!

Extremely cute story, Carson's mom asked him who he wanted to sit by while he ate his lunch.  He said 'CeCe because she's my best friend.'  How sweet is that?!

He is such a cutie and C just loves her some Carson!

Saturday night, C had a play date with a new friend, Chloe.  Chloe's mom, Danielle, and I work together and have said for awhile that we need to get the girls together to play.  Well we finally made that happen and the girls had a blast!

Having a picnic together.

Popping bubbles.

They played so well together and when we left, C started crying she wanted to see Chloe again.  Ha!

Sunday afternoon, we went to a Hot Rods game.  PERFECT day for a ball game.

C said she needed 2 things at the game; popcorn and coke.

She got both plus some ice cream.

She even scored a baseball thanks to a VERY sweet ball player from the other team.  She thought it was the coolest thing.

She had such a packed weekend that on our way home from the game she fell asleep and didn't wake up until THIS morning!  That is the longest she has ever slept in her life!

We better get all the sleep we can this week because like our weekend, we've got something everyday.
