Mama, I want to do that again

C's big surprise on Sunday was getting to go see Beauty and the Beast down in Nashville.  After our Lion King experience, I knew C would have a blast and she did!  Money well spent.

I'm smart enough not to tell her about these little adventures until we are about to leave.  She was super excited and barely ate her lunch because she wanted to get to the show.

As always, the added bonus of these trips is that Momoi gets to go with us.

Of course I made her promise she wasn't going to fall asleep like she did the time she took me to see Beauty and the Beast at the movie theater.  So embarrassing.

C absolutely LOVED the show and about cried at intermission because she thought it was over.  I didn't think the show was too bad.  Not as action packed at The Lion King but still really good.

She has already told me twice she wants to do it again!  I'm thinking The Nutcracker and Rockettes might be a must this winter.

Made Good Use

C and I have made good use of this beautiful day!

We started the morning at The Farmer's Market.  It was C's first time and it was definitely the perfect time to take her.  There were several stands with pumpkins, mums and all kinds of fall goodies.

She scored two mini pumpkins and I scored some cinnamon apple butter for B and some apple butter muffins.  Yum!

When we left she told me she loved that place and wants to go back.  :)

Next I took her to do one of her favorite things in the world...feed the ducks!

And we couldn't leave without hitting up the playground.

Brent is gone for the night so having a spa night was in order.

Mani/Pedis were a must.

We've had an awesome day and we've got more fun stuff planned.  I've got a BIG surprise for C tomorrow that I can't wait to tell her!

Never a Dull Moment

C and I went for a walk last night.  She wanted to take her baby doll but insisted that she ride in the stroller.

She buckled her in and pulled the umbrella down so the sun wouldn't be in her face.

She stopped a few times to make sure her baby was ok.  We also stopped so C could take a picture of the baby.

She was so cute playing mama.

C comes up with the most off the wall statements that make Brent and I go 'what did she just say?'

The other day, her and I were having a conversation about bounce houses.  She asked if I like them and I told her yes but that I'm too big for them now.  She said 'that's ok.  Jesus will make you small again like me and then you can go in them.'  I have no clue where this even came from.

And last night, I was giving her directions to do something and all of a sudden she says, 'calm down.  Calm down.  Just calm down.'  I told her she better watch it or she was going to get in trouble.  She then replied, 'ain't nobody got time for that.'

 My dad told me that one was going to come back to bite me.

Need Sleep

I have never been so glad that a week was over.  Both my work life and personal life was crazy last week and I'm feeling the effects of being non-stop for the past 6 days.  The bags under my eyes are down to my knees.

Thursday night, my mom's side of the family went out to eat for my Nanny's birthday.  We took her to The Depot in Springfield TN and it was out of this world!  It sat close to a railroad (hence the name) and while we were there, we watched 3 trains pass by.  C was thrilled!  It was new to all of us and all 9 of us  agreed the food was fantastic!

I went with a classic chicken fried steak and garlic mashed potatoes.

Yummm.

We also had dessert which was ridiculous but we inhaled it too fast for me to take a picture.  It was a triple chocolate dessert and nothing chocolate stands a chance between my mom and I.

Singing Happy Birthday to Nan.

And the main reason my personal life was bananas last week was because of this...

My hometown, Franklin, KY, has The Festival on the Square every year and I set up as a vendor.  The day started off rainy but that didn't damper our (as always Brent was with me helping and being the ultimate TROOPER!!) excitement or stop us.  My prayers were answered, it stopped raining and it turned out to be a fabulous day!

I exceeded my goal for sales that day which thrilled me to death and the icing on the cake was getting to indulge in one of my favorite meals...bbq nachos!

Between this and the fried steak, I gained 10 pounds but it was all worth it!

And today was no rest for the weary.  We had church and C and I had a bridal shower this afternoon.  Then it was back home to do laundry and to make my house look halfway livable.

Here's to starting a work week already tired and wishing it was the weekend.

The Sweet Things She Says

Our weekend was about as boring as one can get.  We've piddlin' around the house all weekend and it has been wonderful.  Saturday afternoon went to a birthday party but I got no pictures.  C had a good time but who doesn't love hanging with friends and eating cake.

The real highlight of the weekend was when C and I got all loaded up to head to Franklin for the birthday party and my car wouldn't start.  This normally wouldn't be a big deal because I would just jump in Brent's and let him figure it out while I was gone.  But naturally this would be the Saturday in 5 months he has to work and can't leave.  What's a girl to do?  She calls her dad.  Then she calls her mom because her dad doesn't answer.  Then she waits for one of them to call her back. My dad finally calls back and sends my mom to the rescue.

Now, this story isn't really blog worthy but I want to forever remember what my 3 year old child told me while we were waiting for my mom.

In a matter of fact voice, C said 'Mama, when I get a car, its gonna work.'  Uhh, I had that goal too.

And to make it worse, later that night when we were playing in her room, she said, 'here Mama, get in my car.  It works.'

Seriously?

End of the Week Randoms

Monday Brent had the day off so he and C came to have lunch with me.

She was asleep when I first got in but when she woke up she was super excited to see me.  I asked her what she was doing she said, 'we're going to The Hot Plate with you!'  It was a great way to start the week!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This video has made me laugh so much this week!  I've watched it almost everyday.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I taught C how to spell her name the other day going to dance class.  She is SO proud of herself and is constantly asking me to ask her how to spell her name.

Please tilt your head.

We also worked on her writing her name last night.  Nailed it!

I realize that she isn't spelling her "real" name but she never calls herself Cecilia and when you ask her what her whole name is, she says 'Cece Reid Miller.'

 I'm super excited that football season is here and that I get to watch my Niners play.

Last Sunday I was on edge throughout the whole game.  C told me multiple times to stop yelling.  Hopefully I can keep calm the rest of the season.  Doubt it but it could happen.

Live for the Weekends

During the week, we are all about boring routine so when Friday hits, we are ready for some change.

Friday, we had to take C to her post-op appointment for her eyes.  During the surgery, small tubes were put into her tear ducts to make sure any scar tissue didn't close them again.  We went Friday to remove those tubes.  It went as well as one might expect when one has to be pinned down my their mother and a nurse with the doctor coming at your eyeball with sharp tweezers.  Her screams were heard throughout the office.  I got hot and needed a tall glass of wine afterwards.

Since Brent and I knew what our visit would in tell, we told C that if she was good at the doctor's office she could pick out a surprise at Opry Mills.  After many stores and much debate, she decided on this doll house...

It was a tough decision between that and Legos.

I think she made the right decision because we have played with that house all weekend!

Saturday, we watched football, played with our new dollhouse and enjoyed a nice relaxing day at home.

We had a pretty big day today.  After church, we did a quick change and it was out the door to Gwyneth's birthday party at Jackson's Orchard.

The kids had a blast feeding the goats,

going down The Apple Slider,

C went down no less than 50 times!

and posing for pictures.

C has so much fun with all her little schoolmates and we are so lucky to have just a good group of girls!

We just knew she would be out early tonight but as of now, she is still hanging in there.  Good thing she is hanging with her daddy tomorrow and doesn't have to worry with school.

Labor Day Weekend

What a weekend!  For people who didn't really have any plans, we sure did stay busy!

For the first time in 6 years, Brent was able to enjoy the long weekend with us and the fact that it was his birthday weekend made it even better!

After a very lazy, relaxing morning, I took C shopping for fall clothes Saturday afternoon so B could enjoy the Notre Dame game in peace.  We had so much fun and I got my first glimpse into our future shopping trips.  At 3, she already has an opinion about what she wants to wear and I'm fine with that.  I was VERY opinionated about what I wore growing up.

At our first stop, I had already mapped out several outfits I thought would be adorable.  C had other thoughts.  I would hold up the outfit and ask if she liked it and 85% of the time I got an 'uh no.'  Our next 3 stops went much of the same.

During one stop, she started holding clothes up and asking, 'do you like this Mama?'  If I said yes, it went on her arm.  She was so funny picking things up and saying 'oh I think this.'  'This is cute.'  'Feel this Mama.'  And even though she wasn't liking much, we managed to get a few outfits to start the fall.

After shopping and the football game, we met my parents for Brent's birthday dinner at Longhorn.

Sunday, we had a picnic outside.

She dressed herself.  A dress with neon flowered shorts and blue reindeer socks.  She is stylin'!

Went to the Hot Rods game.

Got a free IGA man and named it Kegan.

Took Brent to Mellow Mushroom for another birthday dinner just the 3 of us.

Took a stroll downtown.

C wanted to take a picture of B and I.

She said it was a good one!  :)

Picked a few flowers.

We ended the long weekend just like one should-sleeping in, going to the park, playing outside and snuggling watch a movie.
