Family Time

Last week, we got a much needed visit from my brother and sister-in-law.  We've not seen them in person since Uryah was born and with their baby on the way, we had to get in some face time before they are unable to travel.

Knowing that this would be their last visit until after the baby is born, I HAD to throw them a shower.  ;)  My aunt and a family friend help me pull it off and we had a wonderful time celebrating Baby Mayeur.

I went with a tribal theme because it was different and I knew I could make most of the decorations as well as gather things from my house.

Mo (my brother) and Leslie got lots of adorable goodies and my nephew is going to be one stylish baby.

C passed out before we could even get out of my parent's neighborhood.

Saturday, my mom, Leslie, the kids and I went to a car/craft show on the square in Franklin.

It was a nice day to be out and about looking at all the different booths.  C was over it within 2 seconds of arriving but found a bouncy house and a coloring booth so for 10 minutes we didn't have to hear, 'are we done yet?'

We hit up DQ for some lunch and ice cream.  C displaying Sharing Is Caring.

We dropped my mom and SIL off just in time to head to one of C's BF's birthday party.

To our surprise, some of her old daycare buddies were there and she had the time of her life!

We miss them so much and are always happy to see them.

Sunday, after church, we went to Just Piddlin' Farm for some playtime and pumpkin time.

C LOVES the corn pit and could play in it all day long.  U on the other hand, smiled for one second and then cried.

He was content chilling in the stroller playing with a pumpkin.

Swinging with Aunt Leslie

Mo and his shenanigans.

Naturally I made the kids pose for a few pictures.

C was less an thrilled (#shegetitfromherdaddy) so I'm making her go back and taking more.

Sunday night, we had dinner with my mom's side of the family to celebrated my Nanny's birthday.

Nanny is all about her greats but sometimes they aren't all about her.

U's like, 'mmm, why is she so cray cray?'

And on our last night all together, C had a big audience at gym.

She was in heaven!  We all ate dinner together then watched a little Monday Night Football before we had to say our final goodbyes.  It's always hard saying goodbye because we never know when we are going to see them again.  I have a feeling it is only going to get harder once Baby Mayeur arrives.

My Recovery Time Ain't What It Used to Be

Last weekend, I managed to catch some super funk that left me laying on the couch in the fetal position wrapped in death for much of Sunday and Monday.  It's been awhile since I've gone down that hard and my recovery time wasn't as fast as it used to be.  And there is nothing I hate more than trying to adult and fight the funk at the same time.  I was a complete joy to be around me last week.

So other than fighting the funk, this is what we've been up to this month.

Celebrating B's birthday.

C pulled me aside a few days before B's birthday and told me we needed to make signs and decorate the whole house.  I just stuck with the signs (she told me all the places to put them) but after my lecture that night, I'll be decorating the whole house, balloons and all, next year.  #whyisshesobossy

She made B put the pink candle she picked out on his cupcake too.  You can tell how thrilled he was.  :)

I see this site at least 10 times a day.

Giving her kisses

Cracking up at whatever face she is making.

We've also moved into the feeding yourself phase.

It's more like shove as much in your mouth as possible but it does the job.

One thing we've learned, you don't eat in front of him without sharing.

Sister doesn't always like sharing, especially her popcorn.

We have to remind her a LOT sharing is caring.  She doesn't like that rule unless you are the one who is supposed to share with her.

C enjoyed Breakfast with Grandparents at school.

And Balloons, Tunes and BBQ with one of our favorite old daycare friends.

We attended my cousin's wedding this past weekend.  I turned around in the car to find a 16 year old riding with us.

Lawd.

C LOVES weddings.  She asked when our next one was.  Ha!

My Sunday morning loves.

8 Months

Uryah Bayles is 8 months old!

Out of the two of us, he is the only one happy about it.

He is weighing in at 25 lbs, wears mostly 18 months clothes (there are times we can still squeeze into 12 months) and a size 4 diaper.

He eats a jar of baby cereal for breakfast, a fruit and veggie for lunch and eats whatever we are having for dinner.  He will eat anything but corn, mac n cheese, carrots and any kind of meat are some of his favorites.  He is also still taking 4-8oz bottles a day.

It's pure joy when he sees food and if its not in his mouth within .002 seconds, he is going to tell you about it.

He doesn't have many new tricks.  He will stand on his little chubby legs for a few minutes but he is pretty content sitting on the floor playing, especially if Sister will join in.

Of course if Sister is playing, you better be prepared to play dolls.

The other thing he has gotten good at, is his duck face.  I'm not sure where this came from because I can promise you, none of us do it.

He does it randomly but it is the funniest thing.

His "talking" is at an all time high.  He constantly jabbers, blows air between his lips and shouts dada ALL DAY.  B finds thinks its hilarious and wonders why I get so annoyed.  I told him to birth a 9 pound baby and to let me know how he feels when it constantly says mama.  The only consolation is besides C, Uryah only loves and kisses on me.  Eat that Dada.

Uryah takes two 2 hour naps a day and sleeps at least 12 hours a night.  The past few nights, those 12 hours have been a little restless but I noticed this morning he has a tooth breaking through and I'm pretty sure another one on the way!

In four short months we will be celebrating his first birthday.  It's crazy to think about but we couldn't imagine life without him.
