Update on Life

My whole world is so upside down and crazy right now, I can't ever seem to find time to blog.  I hate posting a whole month's worth of life but I also want to remember all this stuff too so here goes.

February 13th, we finally got meet Jack, my new nephew.  We waited two LONG months but the wait was so worth it.

There was one little girl in particular who was extremely excited to meet her new cousin.

We met my brother, SIL and Jack at the airport.  C was so overwhelmed by the greeting, she barely could acknowledged Jack.  She finally warmed up after a few minutes then it was all Jack, all the time.

She got the first snuggles but I definitely got my share as well.

I nearly died Valentine's Day when the snow came down so fast because we were supposed to spend the day with my family.  Thankfully, B came to the rescue and drove us to my parent's house so we didn't have to miss a day with Jack.

It's moments like those that I'm thankfully I married a northern boy who is used to this ridiculous weather because seriously, how can we stay away from that face?

She loves her some Jack.

This face says, she's in complete heaven.

And no hang out session is complete without a Mo and C stretching contest.

You can hear them saying, 'Hey Mo, can you do this?'  'What about this one C.  Can you do this?'

The kids and I ended up staying at my parent's since they would be spending the next day with my mom.  It was a full house but we loved getting to spend the whole day and night with them.

C finally got to celebrate Valentine's Day with her classmates after all the snow.

She worked hard putting her Valentine's together and she was excited to finally have her party.

Decorating her cookie.

And of course we had to do a little photo sesh before school.

I took off one day while Jack was here so I could have him all to myself.  And this is how I spent much of my day.

The night before they had to leave, we went out to celebrate my birthday, which was the next day.

It's been a long time since I had everyone together to celebrate a birthday.  I can't say it was the most relaxing birthday dinner ever (U didn't get the memo it was my bday and he was supposed to act extra good ;)) but I loved having everyone there.

After dinner, we went back to my parent's to hang out before calling it a night.  We all had to get one last snuggle session in before Jack left.

The next day was my birthday and the rule in our house is the birthday person gets to pick the activities.  Since we were experiencing really nice weather, I decided we needed to go to the zoo.

I wasn't prepared for half the zoo to be closed but there were a few new exhibits that made the trip worthwhile.

The kangaroos were definitely our favorite.

After the zoo, we ate Mexican food and headed home for dessert.

C always makes sure we have candles on our cake/cupcakes.

And in true fashion, nothing is ever just Mama's.

On Sunday, my mom took C and I to the Chocolate Festival that Hospice puts on every year.  I've always wanted to go but it never seemed to work out.  Well, this year it did and I have to say I'm a big fan!

Wall to wall candy, ice cream and of course chocolate.  We came home with bags full of it all.

It was a great way to end my birthday weekend.

C's school continues to amaze me with how much effort they put into making school a fun place.  They are always doing special little things for the kids and the other morning when I dropped C off, they were blasting music as they walked in.

And even though C says she hates school, she has a huge amount of school spirit.  If there is anything going on at the school, she tells us she HAS to go.  This was the case with the school's Talent Show.  We had zero plans of going but C almost came to tears at the thought of not being there.  Mind you she didn't know anyone who was performing nor was she performing but she still felt she had to go.  So we went.

I'm actually glad we did.  The kids were super talented and did an amazing job.  And the teachers?  As usual, put on a show stopping performance.

You know you have great teachers and staff when they dress in glow sticks and do The Wobble.  We could not have a better school for our kids.

This past weekend, it was just me and the kids so we had a really low key weekend.  C and I had movie night on Friday night.  We rented The Good Dinosaur and popped popcorn.

On Saturday, we played around the house and then went to my Granny's for dinner.

Sunday, we had our usual church routine then played around until B came home.

We for sure don't live an super exciting life but somehow we stay busy.  Maybe one day I'll find the time to keep this place better updated.
