Unlike everyone in a 10 county radius, the Millers kept their hind ends out of Florida. Brent and I both took off so we could enjoy a week of doing a lot of nothing but hanging out as a family. We did bookend our week with short trips out of town but for the most part, we stayed close to home.
Our Fall Break craziness started with a trip to Indy for our annual hangout with B's college friends. Every year, we get together with B's baseball friends and their families. Sometimes a few of us don't get to make it because of life and/or children but this year we were all able to make it and we all had a blast!
We have 6 kids under 6 between us who barely remember each other but somehow, they all got along and played so well with one another.
We had originally planned to go to Homecoming at B's old college but the weather was nasty so Plan B was bowling.
Part of our crew.
I really wish I knew the conversation between these two. I'm envisioning C bossing since her hand is on her hip and her finger is pointed but I'm hoping she is just giving him bowling tips. He followed her around the rest of the day so he either likes being bossed or really appreciated the advice. ;)
This little guy took about 20 selfies with my phone and C got in the background and started posing too. They were cracking me up because his little finger couldn't click the button fast enough and C was totally moving around to get in the frame with him!
A little hair braiding session before heading back our friend's house for the evening.
The kids played hard while the adults caught up on life with each other. To end the night, we had a little movie time so everyone under 7 could settle down.
We all said our goodbyes Sunday morning and headed in our separate directions. We love our little get together's but they are too far apart and never last long enough.
The rest of our Fall Break was filled with relaxing mornings at home,
and fun trips in the afternoon.
Tuesday, we took the kids to Just Piddlin' Farms to pick out pumpkins.
To our surprise, C picked small pumpkins for her and U. Usually she goes for a big one.
And of course, there was lots of playtime in the corn pit.
That night after U went to sleep, we popped popcorn and had movie night.
We spent a lot of time outside playing and taking walks.
Wednesday morning, C wanted to go to the library.
She loves our little library down from us and asks to go all the time. I wish I could say she is there for the books but she is mainly there for the computer and Legos. *sigh*
We also hit up the park that afternoon to burn some energy.
C picked a different park this time and lucky for her, ice cream treats were right next door. Cheers for ice cream!!
U naturally got in on the action too. Don't even think about eating anything in front of him if you aren't going to share. It gets ugly if you don't like sharing.
Later that night the kids decorated their pumpkins.
C isn't much on craving pumpkins so we paint ours instead.
Works for me since there is less of a mess!
Thursday during U's morning nap, C and I went to get mani/pedi's.
Later we went to my parent's for a sleepover because the next morning my mom, the kids and I were HOT Atlanta bound!!
C's number 1 priority...
C was SUPER focused in the store. I had all these envisions about skipping around the store and getting the doll's hair done and looking at clothes but C had other plans. My dad had given her spending money and she was laser focused on spending that money. Her main goal was to GET THE PJAYS!!!! She hit that store running trying to find the perfect pjays for her doll and she couldn't focus on anything else. If I heard, 'I've GOT to find the pjays' once, I heard it a hundred times and it's not a big store.
Once we found THE pjays, I talked her into picking out a couple other outfits. Once we got out of the store, we immediately had to find a place to change her doll's clothes.
After that, she set her focus on the play area in the mall.
Since we had spent 5 hours in the car and time running around the American Girl Store, I was more than happy to sit and chill for a bit. So was this dude.
After playtime, we had dinner then crashed for the night.
The next morning we went to my SIL's baby shower which was the main reason we were in Atlanta.
This was our last opportunity to see Leslie before she has the baby so we took full advantage.
C loved being around all the grown ups and especially Leslie. I am so thankful that Leslie doesn't mind C needing to be beside her all the time. She followed her around all morning.
I had told C that when Leslie opened her gifts she was not allowed to be all in her business. As you can see that worked well.
After the shower, we changed clothes and headed back to the mall because C HAD to go to the play area again and HAD to have Chick-fil-a. Leslie met up with us for one last visit.
Sunday morning, we loaded up and headed back home where reality was just a few short hours away.
