Blur

From last Saturday on has been a complete blur for me.  We stayed busy everyday with fun activities but I'm so glad that week is over.

To start our crazy week, C had a birthday party for one of her friends at the gym.  She was a little shy about the whole thing at first but once 2 of her other friends showed up, it was game on.

After the party, one of her friend's mom took the girls to the mall and completely spoiled them with a ride on the carousel, shopping and a trip to the candy store.

The girls were so cute!  One of them would find something and yell 'oh look how cute this is!' and the other girls would come running.

They had the best time!

After that, C and I met up with Alicia and Eli for dinner and a trip to Barnes and Noble.

Eli helped convince C that a baby brother wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.  She is still holding out for a sister though.

Sunday night kicked off VBS at my parent's church and this year we decided to take C.  One of her friends from our church was going so we thought C would enjoy it.

She cried every night I left her but quickly got over and had a blast.

C and her friend from our church

The last night of VBS they had family night where they shared with the parents what all they've learned during the week.  They also had dinner and a magic show.

C loved watching Mr. Magic as did a lot of the parents.  :)

And this is what a week of running from sun up to sun down will do to ya.

And to end our crazy week, the Konow's had a bunch of families over Saturday night to eat and let the kids play together.

Kids ran wild all night while the adults talked and made sure they didn't kill each other or tear the house down.

Whew!  I've never been so glad to have a nothing week in all my life.  I haven't been feeling that great and running all day and night just about killed me.  Baby #2 ain't playin' around.

And speaking of baby #2, I got sick the other night as C and I laid down for bed.  I had to make a mad dash to the bathroom and I told her to get her daddy.  We all know I'm a complete baby in this department and  I need cold water and a cold rag ASAP.  Thankfully, I have a husband who has an iron stomach when it comes to this subject who will bring me my items and who doesn't mind standing over me to ask questions on how I got sick.  Really?

Anyway, the other night B had to work late and right before C got into bed, she said, 'Mama.  Since Daddy isn't here, if you get sick, I'll get you your water and a wet rag.'

Sweet right?  She is such a little helper.

Very Much Planned

By now, our family and friends know we are expecting our second child.  It's been fun telling them over the past month and I've loved seeing/hearing everyone's reaction.

In the last couple of weeks, we've told co-workers and people associated with our jobs and the response I seem to be getting a lot is, 'uh was this planned?'  I find this to be a very odd response because I'm a 31 year old married gal with one child already who is just 4.  It's not like I'm 40 with a 20 year old.

I've never been quiet about the fact that I want multiple children (3 to be exact) so I'm not sure why me announcing my pregnancy has been such a shock to people.

This baby was very much planned.

We decided last spring that it was time to add another child to the mix.  I knew it wouldn't happen overnight as it took a little over a year for me to get pregnant with C but for some reason I wasn't expecting it to take as long as the first.  I have prayed hard and been VERY patient over the last year and we couldn't be happier!

So just in case you were wondering, baby #2 is not a surprise.  Now if #3 comes shortly after, yes you can be assured that it is a surprise and you will find my husband at the morgue.  He would literally DIE!  He isn't on the 3rd child train just yet.  ;)

The Fourth Weekend

We celebrated the 4th by going to Indy to see our brand new niece.  B's brother and sister in law just had their third child and we have been dying to see her ever since she was born.

Etta is so tiny and precious and we couldn't get enough!  Someone else was pretty smitten by her too...

C loved getting to hold her and was SO sweet around her.  I'm pretty sure this sealed the deal that she is ready to have a baby in our house.

C was also pretty excited to get to spend the weekend with her other cousins.

Best shot I got of all 4.

Friday night, B and his brother put on a little firework show for us.

It was a little loud for the girls but they were thrilled until we saw bigger fireworks across the field from the house.  C yelled, 'Look!  Real fireworks!'

To the boys defense, they are 15 year old boys trapped in grown men's bodies.  They still think bottle rockets and anything that blows up counts as a firework and is fun.  Still everyone had a good time and no one got injured so that's all that matters.

Saturday, the boys headed to Cincinnati to watch a Reds game so the rest of us stayed back and enjoyed watching cartoons and playing.

Later that afternoon, we did manage to load up all 4 kids and head to my SIL's uncle's house for some swim time.

I'm going to brag on my kid a little because after threatening to take her home a little push, she finally got off the pool steps and started swimming around.

She got really brave and went to the deep end.  It helped her other cousins were doing it and she didn't want to be left out.  I even talked her into jumping off the side of the deep end!  Twice!  Super proud of her and hopefully we can get those swimmies off her before next summer.

We had such a good time visiting and spending time one on one with everyone.

The kids were great together and didn't fuss and fight.

They had a basement full of toys and each other and quite frankly that's all they needed.

Updates

Friday, we hit a huge milestone in our house...C spent two, yes TWO, nights away from home!

We had already planned for her to spend the day with my parents on Saturday and then spend the night as well but at the last minute we decided it would be easier on everyone if she spent the night on Friday too.

Not my best decision especially being pregnant but look at her face.  She was so excited and couldn't wait to leave.  She had the time of her life but I don't think this will be happening again anytime soon.  I missed her like crazy and my hormones just really can't take that kind of separation right now.  Maybe when she is 20 we can try again.

And the reason C got to spend so much time away is because B and I had a hot date at the race track!

A company I deal with at work gave us tickets to the NASCAR race on Saturday at the Kentucky Speedway.

We had a rough start to our day (got soaked by rain halfway through our walk to the track) but we didn't let that spoil the day.

This is our second race at this speedway and for non-NASCAR fans, we really enjoy ourselves.  We had really great seats and to actually be at a race in person is an experience.

To see and hear the cars go that fast is pretty amazing.  And the people who attend are an experience all their own.  Yikes!

It was a very long day but we had a good time and I'm kind of ready to go back.  :)

Now on to baby news.

I'm 12 weeks now and the baby is out and about.

Photo bomber.  Seriously can't do ANYthing without her right beside me.

I had a doctor's appointment last Friday and everything is sounding great and I'm right on track.

My view when I look down.

I was a little worried that I popped out so soon but apparently that's a second baby for you.  I tell people that I looked like this 6 months pregnant with C and they don't really believe.  Well here is proof.

Me with C at 24 weeks.

 Me now at 12 weeks.

Umm yeah.

I told B that he might as well buckle up because I'm going to be HUGE!  The good news is I only gained 2 pounds last month which is shocking but whatever scales don't lie.

I feel like crap 90% of my day but thank goodness for good drugs.  I can at least function without needing to carry around a trash can.

To my surprise, I'm not as tired this time around.  Don't get me wrong, I love a good nap but I remember sleeping A LOT with C.  I actually get an energy boost around 8pm but I don't do anything productive.  I typically will just lay in bed watching TV thinking about what I should be doing.  Ah well.  It will get done eventually.

We still have a few more weeks before we find out what we are having.  Although, C is convinced it is a girl and I'm pretty sure B has set himself up for another girl.  I'm thinking boy so that appointment will be fun.

That's about all that is going on in our little world right now.
