Weekend Recap

Our weekend kicked off with a Girls Night In for Cecilia and I.

We snuggled up on the couch, watched a movie and ate snacks.

After the movie, we played and had a picnic.

Then Cecilia pretended she was in marching band.

Saturday was a big day for us.  Brent's parents gave us their Reds tickets so we could go watch our annual game.  Brent would love to go to more but it never seems to work out.

The weather was perfect and we enjoyed being able to relax and not have to entertain anyone.

Cecilia apparently had a big time herself.

My parents took her to The Garden Patch in Smiths Grove where she had the time of her life!

Pretty sure she could have cared less about Brent and I.

I told my dad before we left to take a few pictures so I could see what she did...

and during the middle of the game I got an email saying he ONLY took 100 pictures!

We could tell yesterday that she spent the day with her grandparents because she wouldn't listen and was sent to timeout several times.  And to top it all off, at her last major meltdown, she cried for my mom.  Awesome.  I told Brent this was the worst payback EVER.  Pretty sure I remember sitting in my bedroom floor at times crying, telling my mom I wanted my Nanny.

Totally looking forward to the teenage (hormonal) years because I was a real peach.

When you're here, you're family.

September is a busy birthday month for us.  There are lots of cards and celebrations throughout the month and last night was a celebration night.

Yesterday was my Nanny's birthday so the whole fam got together to eat.

.

We went to the one place that enjoys big family parties, Olive Garden.

We ate, we laughed and caught up on life.

And most important, we celebrated my Nanny.  The women that hold us together.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Brent's parents came for a visit over the weekend.  We didn't have much planned and didn't do a whole lot.  They come to play and hang out with C and that's exactly what they did.

We did manage to take them to Jackson's Orchard late Saturday afternoon.  It is one of Cecilia's favorite places in town but who wouldn't love being able to feed goats,

play on their huge playground,

and have one of the best snacks.

They already had some of their pumpkins and mums out plus they were having hayrides.  We unfortunately missed the last call on the hayride so I'm itching to go back our first free weekend.

The rest of the weekend was spent hanging around the house watching football and playing.  I absolutely love this time of year with the pumpkins, cooler weather and football!

Feeling the Effects

Friday night, my dad and I took Cecilia to the Balloons, Tunes and BBQ event that we have here in BG.  They put on a big production every year with a bunch of hot air balloons, lots of bbq vendors, concerts and carnival rides.

Cecilia had the best time watching the balloons and hanging out with her Pap.

She tried to convince us to let her ride one of the balloons but I'm smart enough to know she would have freaked once we got in the basket.

The whole reason we went on Friday night was to see the balloon glow where they all light up at the same time.

It is pretty neat but Cecilia was done at this point.  They weren't impressive anymore so we had to move on to the bounce houses.

She was in heaven!  There were about 10 different bounce houses and she wanted to go on every one of them but sadly she is smaller than she thinks she is.  We did find a few that she was able to play in and we let her play until she wore both of us out.  Plus the smell of B.O. was KILLING me.

Saturday it rained much of the morning so it was a good day to stay inside and do some things around the house.  At some point during the afternoon, I told Brent that we probably needed to plan on switching out Cecilia's bed next weekend.  She has been sleeping on the daybed we have in our spare room for the past couple of nights so it just seemed logical to go ahead and move it into her room.  I was not prepared for him to say, 'it won't be that difficult.  I'll just move it during halftime.'  I warned him that he would be more than just moving the bed.  That it would require moving everything in her room.  I still got a no biggie.  Sweet!

We got her "new" bed set up and her whole room rearranged and girlfriend couldn't be happier.

Look how excited she is for her new bed.

Yes she sleeps with all that stuff around her.  Hence the need for a bigger bed.

Now I just have to buy bedding.  Oh and convince him that we need to paint ASAP.

Sunday was another fun day for us.  We had my cousin's daughter's birthday party to go to at a local playhouse late that afternoon.

C sporting her Georgia Tech dress for Uncle Mo after their big win on Saturday.

Cecilia and Gwyneth go to the same daycare and are at times in the same room so they know a lot of the same kids.

She was so excited to see some of her school friends and to see all the fun stuff to play with.

I could not get a decent picture of her or any of the other kids we knew. They were constantly running around. I finally gave up after the 50th blurry picture of her backside.

After the weekend we had, Cecilia was hyped up last night and I could barely keep my eyes open.  I'm also feeling the effects of moving furniture on Saturday which is a great combo to have on a Monday.

Here's to a slower week.

Brought to you by the letter P and the number 1

**Disclaimer:  This post has the word "poop" in it several times.  If this word makes you uncomfortable, then I suggest leaving now.  I need documentation of things that I can use to embarrass Cecilia to death later in life.

Yesterday,  I picked Cecilia up around 3:30 from school and they informed me they hadn't made their late afternoon potty trip yet.  Before leaving, I asked several times if she needed to go potty because we were headed to Hobby Lobby to pick up a gift.  I got a no every time.  I stay on the subject the WHOLE car ride to because I and the school know that between 3 and 3:30; Cecilia's going to need to do her business.

We arrive at Hobby Lobby and I ask again if we need to make a stop.  'Nope.'  I think, maybe today just isn't a doing your business kind of day.  I thought wrong.

We are in the fabric section and Cecilia gets still and has that look in her eye.  I know that look.  I immediately ask her if she needs to go to the bathroom.  'Nope' followed by a smile.  At the smile I knew I was screwed.  I get in her face so all of Hobby Lobby doesn't hear our conversation, 'Cecilia, are you pooping in your pants?' I get a smile back.  At this point, I know what she is doing and know that I have no change of panties, no wipes and no pull up.  FAB-U-LOUS!!!

It doesn't take Cecilia long to notice the beads of sweat on my forehead as I'm trying to figure out how to handle this situation.  It also doesn't take her long to start yelling, 'I pooped.  I pooped.  Mom, I pooped.'  For the love of Pete!  I escort her to the bathroom all the while she is announcing to everyone what just happened.  And here I thought my child was shy.  Clearly not.  We get cleaned up as best we could and make a quick exit.

I was so glad I was meeting up with Emily and Alicia that afternoon because Mama needed some dessert therapy.

We went to a place downtown called Tea Squares.  It's not new to BG but it was to us.  It is a cute little tea house that offers tons of different teas (obviously), a light menu and AMAZING desserts.  I got the red velvet cake and took the banana cake home for Brent.  They were both really good and just what I needed after my Hobby Lobby episode.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cecilia's director at school is leaving to pursue her dream job of teaching and I wanted to do a little something for her.  Hence the trip to Hobby Lobby.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do so we wandered the aisle.  I finally got idea when I saw they had huge unfinished wood letters.  I grabbed the letter I needed, some fabric, ribbon and an embellishment.
I Mod Podged the fabric to the letter.  Cut off the extra.
Hot glued the flower and ribbon on.  And viola!
I thought she could use it as a door hanger.
And if things couldn't get any peachier around my house, look what I found this morning...
a coarse, grey hair front and center.  I blame my Hobby Lobby experience.
She is Still In There.
Last week, we finally got around to taking some pictures of Cecilia to document her second year.
My dad scoped out 3 different locations for the project and they were just perfect.
Cecilia had a blast and I think we got some petty cute pictures of her.
I've looked at these pictures a hundred times because it reminds me that even though I have my hands full with her, my sweet child is still in there.
Somewhere.
