Extra Long Weekend

Since B and I are trying to squeeze in as much time as possible with C before the baby comes, we decided to extend our holiday weekend by a day to do something fun with her.

It was B's birthday weekend too so we first needed to celebrate him.  He requested his cake early and C was more than happy to help bake his cake.

She also wanted to help him blow out his candles.

Tuesday was B's actual birthday and the day we had planned a fun activity for C.  Our original plan was to go to the Louisville Zoo but Mother Nature cancelled those plans for us.  So Plan B was a trip to the Adventure Science Museum.

C wasn't too thrilled with some of the areas but she managed to find several things she enjoyed.  Lifting the car was her favorite.

Of course, B had to do most of the heavy lifting.

We stayed for a couple of hours playing around and exploring the areas that didn't freak C out.

Our next destination was B and C's favorite spot, Opry Mills mall.  C is always talking about going to the "big mall" and loves walking around.  B likes the shopping.  :)  But before any of that could happen, lunch was necessary.

We took her to Aquarium Restaurant there inside the mall and girlfriend LOVED it.  Since it was an
odd hour to eat, we got a table right by the aquarium and she watched those fish the entire time we were there.

Bless her heart though.  She wanted fish to eat and she keep asking if they were going to get the fish out of the tank and cook it.  We had to keep telling her that she wasn't about to eat one of the cute fish in the tank.

After lunch, we walked around the mall and at some point during our walk B thought it was a good idea to take C into Build A Bear.  I have nothing against the place but I've tried to avoid it for 4 years because my child really isn't into stuffed animals so there was no point.  Well, her daddy had other plans.

We weren't in there 2 seconds when B said, 'which one do you want?'  Really?  Thankfully, C has started a My Little Pony phase and they had all the characters so we at least walked away with a cute Rainbow Dash.

And lucky for B, C has played with it everyday.  I would have choked him if it just sat in her room because he told me later the whole reason he wanted her to have one was because he had never seen one made and wanted to know how it worked.  Gotta love him.

We got home in enough time to relax for a few minutes before having to go to bed and get things together for the next day.
