Halloween Fun

Saturday night, one of C's friends hosted a Halloween Party at her house.  As soon as we got there, C took off with her friend Lucie and they played hard for the next 3 hours.

There were Halloween games,

hayrides,

and marshmallow roasting.

They also decorated pumpkins and had a Silly string fight.

It was such a fun little night with C's friends and she was devastated that we had to go home.  I'm pretty sure these little girls are going to try and convince us they need a Halloween party every year and I can't say I blame them.  :)

Staycation #2

Last week B and I took a few days off to get in one last hurrah before the holiday season kicks in and the new baby arrives.

We kicked staycation #2 off right on Tuesday night with a late night trip to Sonic for milkshakes.

Wednesday, after spending 4 hours at the doctors office for various appointments, we hit the park to run off some energy.

Later that night, C painted her pumpkins.

Thursday, we were going to go to the zoo but mother nature had other plans.  So we did the next best thing...bowling!

C was one happy little girl.

After bowling she requested Chuck E Cheese.

Friday was spent getting hair cuts, running errands and getting the house ready for a little visitor.

We had a sleepover with one of B's friend's baby.  C was in complete heaven and could not get enough of baby Emma.  She helped feed her, change her and even got her to go to sleep.

She told me the trick was to pat her back.  Ha.  C was so devastated when Emma left to go back home.  She couldn't understand why she couldn't live with us.  She has asked everyday for Emma to come back.  :)

To get her mind off Emma, we went to Barnes and Noble.  We just happened to come in right before story and craft time.

And of course we couldn't leave without a cookie.

The rest of our staycation was spent relaxing and getting the nursery in shape.  B finally got it painted so I'm in decorating mode.  It now is starting to look like a nursery and not a storage unit.

Frozen

Saturday morning, C woke up to a HUGE surprise!  I finally got to tell her we were going to see Frozen on Ice with her dance friends.  Us mama's arranged this back in the Spring and I've kept the secret this whole time.

I told her after her bath Saturday morning to go pick something out to wear.  She opened her closet to find an Elsa costume hanging front and center.  She was SOOO adorable.  She stopped and said, 'Mama, there is something hanging in my closet.'  I told her our plans and she immediately ran over to hug me.  Cutest moment EVER!

Modeling her new outfit.

Later, we met up with the rest of our crew and headed down to Nashville.

Our car load.

We ate at the Old Spaghetti Factory before the show.

Then did a quick wardrobe change and headed to the show.

C was beyond excited about the whole thing.

She flipped her lid when Mickey, Minnie and some of the Disney princesses came out on the ice.

Oh and when Elsa and Anna came out, she was done for.

We had amazing seats and C sang and danced her little heart out.

Naturally, she has asked me 4 million times when we can go back.

We had such a good time with everyone and we only had meltdowns after the show but it was a long day for the girls.

Our whole crew.

24 Weeks

Baby bump at 24 weeks...

Oh how I wish I had a list of things to update you on but sadly NOTHING has changed.  I'm still nauseous but thankfully its not all day.  I can usually control it by eating a little something or popping some hard candy in my mouth.

The baby moves 85% of the day which kicks up the nausea fun factor.  Nothing like feeling like you are about to lose it and having a baby kick every organ in your body.  It's good times.

I'm not even keeping up with my weight this time around but it's pretty clear I've gained more this time around and I really just don't care.  I told B the other day it look liked I was carrying a baby in the front and in the back.  #mamasgotabooty  I'm not eating a ridiculous amount but I'm not watching every bite either.  And the doctor seems ok with my weight so I'm not worrying about.

The nursery still isn't done and is still being used as my paint room/storage room.  I blame B on this one because he is supposed to be painting the room and hasn't yet so I'm not motivated to do anything.  Clearly the walls don't have to be painted for me to make the art work to hang but its the excuse I like to use so I'm going with it.  :)

We do have cute diapers though.

I found The Honest Company about a month ago and ordered one of their diaper bundles when they were on sale and I was so excited when the box arrived!  How cute is his tush going to be?!

We still have no name and don't seem to be in a rush to find one.  There are a few names we like and B actually came up with a good one last week but we haven't declared it a winner yet.  The good news is we are only looking for a first name.  I've had a middle name picked out before B and I were even dating and I'm not comprising on it.  He has only tried to buck me a few times but once I told him the story behind it, he hasn't said anything else. Of course my raging hormones may have something to do with it too.  He isn't fond of the crazy beast that comes out when he disagrees with me.  I blame the male hormones running inside me.  With C, I was very emotional and cried a lot but this time around instead of crying, I just want to punch people in the face and move on.  It is a daily struggle to hold back.

C is still very much excited about the baby.  She asked the other day if she could hold the baby anytime she wanted and if she could feed the baby at supper time.  She also asked if she could be in the room when the doctor pulled him out.  I died.  For one, she knows too much at 4 years old especially since we have NEVER talked about it.  And two, that B's response was maybe.  Maybe?  He has clearly forgotten what goes on in the delivery room.  I barely want to be in there myself and I'm pretty sure I remember him almost going white when C made her appearance.

Other that than, the Millers are just keeping busy with life and hoping we get our stuff together before this baby arrives.

Weekend Update

Another crazy busy weekend is in the books.

Friday night, C went to spend the night with my parents.  It was the last night of the summer that my hometown was having music on the square and C has been begging all summer to 'go in Pap's jeep and sit on the road and listen to music.'

Can you tell she was a little excited?

Waiting for my dad to come get her.

While we were childless, B and I went out to eat, ran a few errands and then rented a movie.  I even managed to stay up past 8:30pm.  I was living wild and carefree!  Ha!

Saturday morning, B headed off to work and I headed out to help a friend set up for a wedding.  After set up, I made a mad dash to meet my mom so I could grab C just before heading off to a birthday party for one of her school friends.

They had a huge bounce house set up and the kids played on it for a solid hour.

They would have continued to play but someone said cupcakes and they all came running! :)

It didn't last long though.  As soon as they shoved the cupcake down, they were off again.

One of our biggest blessings with C's school has been the friendships she has made.  Her group has been together for several years and they have the best time with each other.  C isn't liking school right now but if you tell her she won't see her friends, she immediately changes her tune and wants to go.  I'm already getting sad that we will all split up next year when everyone goes to kindergarten.  I'm seeing lots of play dates in our future.

Sunday, after church and a quick lunch, C and I went to my Nanny's so I could use her sewing machine.  Mine finally gave up and I'm having a hard time deciding which one to get next so in the meantime, I'm borrowing.  Not that my Nanny cares.  She got to have playtime with C and honest to goodness, she giggles and carries on as much as C.

They went to see the cows then came back to play cars in the kitchen floor.  I love several things about my Nanny but when it came to us kids and now C, no matter what she was doing (canning, sewing, working in the garden), she would stop and come play with us.  I remember getting several 'don't bother Nanny if she is doing something' speeches when I was little and would ride my bike to her house but it didn't matter whether I bothered her or not, she would always stop and play but I do believe she loved playing with us just as much as we loved playing with her.

On our way home, we made a quick delivery to friend of mine.  She is redoing her daughter's bedroom and had an old chair she wanted me to makeover.  I loved how it turned out and thankfully so did she!

Now I can't wait to see it in her room once it's all done.

What Didn't We Do

Our weekend was jammed packed!

Friday night, we did our annual trip to the Balloons, Tunes and BBQ festival to watch the balloon glow.

They also had several bounce houses and carnival rides for the little ones.

Saturday afternoon, C had a birthday party at a local boutique where all the little girls got to make their own necklace.

It was a HUGE hit!

C's finished product.

Sunday after church, we had yet another birthday party for our cousin at Jackson's Orchard.  It is no secret we LOVE us some Jackson's Orchard and C had so much fun reuniting with some of her old classmates that have gone to kindergarten this year.

For once, C ran around with all her friends instead of being attached to our hips and had the time of her life!  She has already asked when we are coming back and thankfully we have planned a trip soon.

After both parties, she told us that's the kind of party she wants to have so somehow I have to combine necklace making with an orchard farm.  No biggie, right?  Mamas got some planning to do.

Extra Long Weekend

Since B and I are trying to squeeze in as much time as possible with C before the baby comes, we decided to extend our holiday weekend by a day to do something fun with her.

It was B's birthday weekend too so we first needed to celebrate him.  He requested his cake early and C was more than happy to help bake his cake.

She also wanted to help him blow out his candles.

Tuesday was B's actual birthday and the day we had planned a fun activity for C.  Our original plan was to go to the Louisville Zoo but Mother Nature cancelled those plans for us.  So Plan B was a trip to the Adventure Science Museum.

C wasn't too thrilled with some of the areas but she managed to find several things she enjoyed.  Lifting the car was her favorite.

Of course, B had to do most of the heavy lifting.

We stayed for a couple of hours playing around and exploring the areas that didn't freak C out.

Our next destination was B and C's favorite spot, Opry Mills mall.  C is always talking about going to the "big mall" and loves walking around.  B likes the shopping.  :)  But before any of that could happen, lunch was necessary.

We took her to Aquarium Restaurant there inside the mall and girlfriend LOVED it.  Since it was an
odd hour to eat, we got a table right by the aquarium and she watched those fish the entire time we were there.

Bless her heart though.  She wanted fish to eat and she keep asking if they were going to get the fish out of the tank and cook it.  We had to keep telling her that she wasn't about to eat one of the cute fish in the tank.

After lunch, we walked around the mall and at some point during our walk B thought it was a good idea to take C into Build A Bear.  I have nothing against the place but I've tried to avoid it for 4 years because my child really isn't into stuffed animals so there was no point.  Well, her daddy had other plans.

We weren't in there 2 seconds when B said, 'which one do you want?'  Really?  Thankfully, C has started a My Little Pony phase and they had all the characters so we at least walked away with a cute Rainbow Dash.

And lucky for B, C has played with it everyday.  I would have choked him if it just sat in her room because he told me later the whole reason he wanted her to have one was because he had never seen one made and wanted to know how it worked.  Gotta love him.

We got home in enough time to relax for a few minutes before having to go to bed and get things together for the next day.
