2 Months

Cecilia, you are now 2 months! How time flies! You have grown so much in the past month. You weigh 11 lbs 15 oz and are 22 3/4 inches long. You are in the 67th percentile for your length and 79th percentile for your weight. We have a feeling you will be a big girl! You for sure aren't the tiny baby we brought home just 2 short months ago!

You can no longer wear newborn outfits and some 0-3 clothes are too short. That seems to be our biggest struggle these days with clothes; if it fits you around, it is too short or if it is right in the length, it is too big in the top!

You started daycare about 3 weeks and you seem to love it! It was hard for me to let you go but I know you are well taken care of and everyone there seems to know who you are even though you aren't in their class. The other little kids like looking into your carrier to say hi on our way out. I think you are going to really like it once you know what is going on. Plus cousin Gwyneth is in your class and that makes it better.

Your are still a really good sleeper. A few nights you have managed to sleep all night but for the most part you like seeing what 2 am looks like. Thank goodness though you go right back to sleep after a bottle!

We went for your 2 month check up the other day which meant you had to get your first round of shots. Unfortunately, Daddy couldn't go with us so Mama had to put on her big girl panties and take you herself. You were good for the first half of the appointment (this picture proves it)...

but then after the doctor got done checking you, you went into a full on fit! You were letting everyone in the office know you were there! Of course the doctor and nurses thought you were the strangest thing in the world because you were crying. Apparently you are the first crying baby they had ever seen. (We're going to join the local circus next week as part of their freak show. I'm going to cash in on this never been seen before crying baby thing!) You took the shots well. A lot better than me. I broke out into a cold sweat and had to turn my head because I'm pretty sure the nurse would have thought I was weird for tearing up. It was a rough visit! I made sure our next one is on Daddy's day off!

You love sitting in your bouncer and listening to your Praise Baby DVD. You kick your feet and move your arms around. I can only assume you are trying to dance. I have told you that us good Southern Baptist aren't supposed to dance but you don't seem to care. You're just like your Mama; she likes to shake her tail feathers too!

You are really starting to smile these days and this week you have started "talking." We love sitting in front of you and try to make you smile and make noises. Most of the time singing does the trick but sometimes just talking silly gets a smile out of ya.

You are learning to hold your head up and you don't bobble around near as much anymore. You have also started grabbing our fingers more and you love holding my pinkie finger when I feed you.

For the most part you are a happy baby. You wake up with a smile on your face and it usually stays there until about 6pm. This is when you turn into a completely different baby and scream for an hour. We have just decided you are a slightly colic baby and we are praying you grow out of it! (we hear at 3 months this will go away and we are counting down the weeks!) You have gotten better about it as long as I some how distract you by either playing your lullaby worship cd or reading to you. For now these things work. They probably won't next week!

You are changing daily and I'm trying to take all the little things in. You are such a joy to have around and your Daddy and I are so lucky to have you as a daughter!
