Getting Prepared

Getting ready for kindergarten is no joke.  These little pint sizes have to know their address, parent's names, phone numbers and several other personal facts.  We've worked with C, along with her school, over the last couple of months to make sure she is ready.

Along with all of this comes several physical exams as well.  She had her physical with her pediatrician a couple of weeks ago where we learned, although everything is normal and she looks great, she hasn't gained weight in her last 3 visits to the doctor.  Since she hasn't been sick lately, we are guessing she has been the same weight for about a year to year and a half, if not longer.  Not a huge deal but we do have to start helping her pack on the pounds and do it in a way that doesn't cause problems later.  The doctor recommended giving her a milkshake a day.  The devastation was written all over her face.

Those are definitely not my genes.

It's going to be a tough road for us because EVERY time I set her plate in front of her, she asks how many bites she has to eat.  Urgh!

Our next fun little doctors visit was to the eye doctor.

We are so lucky that my eye doctor moved to BG and he also happens to be a family friend.  It made C relax more knowing that he was my doctor and that he knew her Momois and Pap.

She thought he was so funny!

She does have a touch of farsightedness but he said that it typically of young children and that she would mostly grow out of it.  We will just monitor it at her yearly check ups.  Now those are my genes.  B and I both pray neither of our children get his eye sight.  He is blind as a bat.

Next up is the dentist and I can't wait for that.  Its always a great time!  *Insert MAJOR sarcasm*
